Occupational Health

May 14, 2026

Occupational Health at Ecopetrol proactively manages occupational hazards and risks to promote, maintain, and improve people’s physical, mental, and social well-being. It contributes to the prevention of occupational illnesses through a range of interdisciplinary activities focused on identifying and managing workplace hazards and risks in current operations, during the design phases of new projects, and in work activities carried out under remote work arrangements or other modalities defined by Ecopetrol.

The main occupational health lines of action are:

Occupational risk management in work environments and facilities (healthy, safe, and sustainable operations), which includes:

  • Closing gas in existing facilities by intervening in sources that generate industrial health hazards (chemicals, noise, lighting, biological risk, among others) and ergonomics to minimize health risks for employees.
  • Incorporating industrial hygiene and ergonomics standards in projects and new facilities from the initial stages (including energy transition projects).

Management of occupational risk in the individual employee (healthy workers with quality of life), which includes:

  • Occupational health
  • Mental health and psychosocial risk management
  • Preventive and occupational medicine
  • Occupational epidemiological surveillance
