The following graphs shows the results of proactive risk management, which has led to a reduction in incidents affecting the environment and spilled volumes.

During 2025, ECOPETROL S.A. reported a total volume of 25.31 barrels of hydrocarbons spilled as a result of operational-origin incidents in its direct operations. This figure represents a 99% reduction compared to the 2,449 barrels recorded in 2011, demonstrating a sustained downward trend in recent years.
This result reflects the company’s commitment to environmental protection, strict compliance with applicable legal regulations, and the continuous improvement of its processes. The integrity strategy has been a key driver of this progress, focusing on keeping the line inventory up to date, ensuring comprehensive coverage of criticality and risk assessments, developing and executing inspection and preventive maintenance plans, and maintaining ongoing monitoring of the health status of high-impact lines.
Through these actions, ECOPETROL reaffirms its commitment to operating safely, responsibly, and sustainably, actively contributing to the preservation of the ecosystems in which it conducts its operations.

In 2025, an incident caused by third parties was recorded, the volume of hydrocarbons spilled has not yet been determined due to public order issues.
The chart shows an 89.47% decrease in barrels of hydrocarbons spilled from incidents caused by third parties in 2025 compared to 2024. Although such events are not the direct responsibility of ECOPETROL S.A., the company has implemented various measures aimed at preventing their occurrence.

In line with this positive trend, during 2025, ECOPETROL’s direct operations recorded 8 incidents involving hydrocarbon spills greater than 1 barrel, which had an environmental impact. The total volume spilled was 17 barrels. This result represents a 90.2% decrease compared to the total barrels spilled in incidents exceeding 1 barrel during 2024. Of the 8 incidents mentioned, 4 were operational in nature, with a volume of 11.83 barrels.
To monitor performance related to spills greater than one barrel, ECOPETROL S.A. uses as a reference the IOGP (International Association of Oil & Gas Producers) index “Number of oil spills >1 barrel in size and quantity spilled per unit of hydrocarbon production.” This indicator is calculated and published toward the end of the fourth quarter of each year, using information from the previous reporting year. In the 2024 report (Environmental Performance Indicators, Table A.22), a value of 6.05 was reported for the Onshore segment. The calculation of this index for ECOPETROL over the same period was 0.05, representing a result 99.17 % lower than the global average for the Onshore segment. The global index results for the 2025 reporting year will be published by the IOGP in the fourth quarter of 2026. The performance of ECOPETROL’s index compared to the global index for the Onshore segment is shown in the following chart.

Note: According to IOGP guidelines, the index does not include incidents with oil spills greater than 1 barrel that have been caused by terrorist acts/attacks on infrastructure, for this reason some values calculated for Ecopetrol direct operation are re-expressed.

Note: During 2025, a total of 176 incidents (both operational and caused by third parties) were recorded, with a spilled hydrocarbon volume of 35.8 barrels that resulted in environmental impacts. (The volume for 1 incident caused by a third party is still being determined.)
