Knowledge Management in Ecopetrol

This is aimed towards the development of specific initiatives to manage and secure the operation´s key knowledge. To date, about 50 assurance initiatives and more than 15 cross-cutting initiatives have been identified. 


For its work, Ecopetrol received nominations for the Make Award in 2010 and 2011; on the first occasion it achieved position 34 in the world ranking of the companies most admired for their Knowledge Management, and in 2011, amongst 119 nominated companies, it was a finalist and was ranked 38, and in the oil & gas sector it ranked ninth. 

The award makes a recognition of the most admired companies for Knowledge Management, assessing eight dimensions on issues such as corporate culture in knowledge, leadership, development and delivery of products / services / solutions based on knowledge, optimization of the value of intellectual capital, climate of cooperation, stakeholder Knowledge Management to increase loyalty and value, and the creation of value for stakeholders.
