Felipe Bayón, CEO Ecopetrol



Chief Executive Officer of Ecopetrol since September 2017. Mr. Bayón holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes. He has over 26 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.  Prior of being CEO at Ecopetrol, he was Chief Operating Officer and for the last 20 years he worked at BP plc, as Senior Vice President of BP America and Head of Global Deepwater Response. From 2005 to 2010, he was the Regional President of BP Southern Cone (South America), and before 2005 he worked in BP’s headquarters as Chief of Staff to the CEO and the Head of the Executive Office for Exploration and Production. He began his career in 1995 in BP Colombia, as a Project Engineer, where he held various positions until becoming Vice President of Operations in Colombia.

Jaime Caballero, CFO Ecopetrol


Chief Financial Officer of Ecopetrol since August 2018. Up to that time, he was Chief Financial Officer for Ecopetrol´s (NYSE:EC) Downstream Segment, comprising the Group´s Refining, Petrochemicals and Biofuels businesses. Previously, he was Founder and Managing Director of EQUES Estrategia, a boutique strategy, consulting and angel investing firm with clients in the international energy, private equity, and logistics sectors.  Mr. Caballero also spent 17 years at BP in business management and executive roles across the Americas, Africa, and Europe. He is lawyer and holds a degree in Economy and Finance from  Universidad de los Andes. He also has an MBA in energy business of Fundação Getulio Vargas and a degree of High Financial Management of Duke University and Wharton School of Business.

Juan Manuel Rojas, VP Strategy and Business Development


Vice-president of Strategy and Business Development of Ecopetrol since July 2018. Mr. Rojas holds a degree in Economy from Universidad de los Andes, holds a Masters in Economics from the same institution and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University.  Prior to joining Ecopetrol, he worked as General Manager of Bridas Corporation, an Argentinean and Chinese Oil and Gas Company, he also served as New Ventures Manager at Panamerican Energy and he worked as Energy Director of SOCMA Group, where he led the Group's strategy in the area of renewable energy, with particular emphasis on wind power projects. Mr. Rojas also holds experience working for the public sector, he was Deputy Minister of Energy and Gas of Colombia.  In the academic field he has been professor of the Master of Public Policy Program at the Universidad Torcuato di Tella in Buenos Aires, and has been Professor of History of Economic Thought at the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia.


Jorge A. Calvache, VP of Exploration


Vice-president of Exploration since May 2018. Mr. Calvache holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology and a Master in Science in Geophysics from the National University of Colombia. Prior to joining Ecopetrol, he worked with Shell Colombia in 1988, where he had the opportunity to evaluate basins and prospects across the country from Onshore to Offshore and in areas of complex geology in thrust belts. Between 1998 and 2003, Jorge was assigned to Shell International Exploration and Production in The Netherlands, where he was involved in prospect, field and regional evaluations around the globe, applying new technologies and methodologies in play, basin and prospect evaluations. From 2003 to 2010 he worked for Shell US Onshore as Principal Exploration Geoscientist, leading several tight gas and unconventional exploration projects in the U.S. In Sep 2010, Jorge was transferred to Shell Exploration and Production Colombia in Bogota as Venture Manager to lead Shell´s exploration activities in Colombia. In Nov 2015, Jorge joined Ecopetrol as Caribbean Offshore Exploration manager, leading Ecopetrol´s offshore exploration activities and strategy.

Rodrigo Andrés Dalle Fiore, Development VP


Development Vice-President since March 2019. Prior to his appointment as Vice-President, he served as Development General Manager (A), Reservoir Development Strategy Manager (A) and Enhanced Oil Recovery Manager at Ecopetrol. He has over 14 years of international experience in the oil and gas sector. Prior to joining Ecopetrol, he was Operations Manager at Bridas Corp (Colombia) and Productions and Operations Manager at Pan American Energy (Argentina). Mr. Dalle Fiore holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Córdoba – Argentina, a specialization in Oil & Gas Reservoirs from the U.N.P.S.J.B. Comodoro Ridavia, Chubut Argentina and a specialization in Gas and Oil Technologies at the Technologic Institute of Buenos Aires (ITBA) - Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Mónica Jiménez, Secretary General 

Secretary General since July 2016. Ms. Jiménez holds a law degree from University of the Andes, a master’s degree in Master of Science in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Postgraduate Degree in Law, Civil Liability and Damages from the Universidad Externado de Colombia. As Secretary General, Ms. Jiménez oversees legal matters pertaining to Ecopetrol´s CEO and the Board of Directors. She leads the corporate affairs of the company which includes heading the corporate governance initiatives for Ecopetrol and its group of companies, the company´s Corporate Responsibility programs, and Ecopetrol´s corporate communications. Prior to joining Ecopetrol, she lived in Canada for more than 15 years, during which time she worked as a lawyer in a boutique law firm that specialized in international law and then in a major Canadian law firm in Vancouver, BC.Ms. Jiménez is also a court member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Santiago Martínez, Environmental Manager


Santiago Martinez is currently the Environmental Manager of Ecopetrol. He is a lawyer from Los Andes University with an MBA from the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) in Berlin, an LL.M from the University of Pennsylvania and post baccalaureate courses on environmental science for sustainable development and Renewable Energies from Columbia University.

He has more than 12 years of professional experience in the environmental and the Oil&Gas sectors, as Environmental Project Manager for the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and the Environmental Law Center from IUCN in Bonn, as Legal Director of the Ministry of the Environment in Colombia and as a former member of BP in Colombia.
