Ecopetrol climbs 7 points in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index

According to the measurement of the S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) that determines participation in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), published today, Ecopetrol obtained a score of 75 points out of 100, a 7-point improvement versus the 2021 measurement.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is one of the most globally recognized indices for evaluating the management of the environmental, social, economic, and corporate governance dimensions. Over 10,000 companies worldwide from 61 industry sectors take part in this assessment, and it has become a global benchmark in good sustainability practices for investors and other stakeholders.

Ecopetrol made outstanding progress in the economic and governance dimension, wherein it obtained 78/100 points, with a 13-point year-on-year improvement, and scored a 100/100 record in the Materiality and Business Ethics chapters. The score improved in 7 of the 8 chapters of this dimension.

The scores in the social dimension also stand out, wherein the company obtained 84/100 points, 15 points more than in 2021, and scored 100/100 points in the Social Reporting and Corporate Citizenship and Philanthropy chapters. The company improved in 8 of the 10 chapters of this dimension.

In the environmental dimension, the Company obtained 64/100 points. Of the 7 chapters in the environmental dimension, the Company improved in 3 (Environmental Policies and Management Systems, Operational Eco-efficiency and Biodiversity), with the same scores in 2 chapters (Water- Related Risks and Environmental Report, in which it scored 100/100).

The Company's position in the ranking, as well as its inclusion in one or more of the indices, will be decided at year-end when the S&P has evaluated all participating companies in the sector.
