Ecopetrol S. A. signed an agreement with the global organization Plug and Play, which will allow to address the challenges of the energy industry related to sustainability, profitable growth and digital transformation.
Plug and Play is a global innovation platform. It connects new companies or 'startups' with corporations to streamline the digital transformation process, and invests in more than 250 companies of technological origin each year. Since 2016, its programs have expanded to 30 locations around the world, giving new startups the resources they need to succeed in Silicon Valley and anywhere on the planet.
Ecopetrol announces its agreement with Plug and Play to continue on the path of innovation, not only in its processes of decarbonization and digital transformation of the operation, but also in the energy mining sector and the strengthening of the Colombian digital ecosystem.
Through this agreement, the company will have the opportunity to implement twelve deal streams for digital solutions, as well as Discover and interact with world-class technology companies.

The commitment to open innovation is part of Ecopetrol's innovation and technology strategy, which seeks to create value by strengthening its digital ecosystem through partnerships with entrepreneurship centers in Colombia such as CEmprende and Ruta N of Medellin, and around the world.
Regarding this agreement, this Thursday, June 11, at 9: 30 a.m. (Colombia time), a virtual conversation will be held between Felipe Bayón and Saeed Amidi, CEO of Plug and Play, about the challenges of innovation and technology, the energy transition and the new international context.
