In 2020, the production of Ecopetrol Group was 697 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (kboed), which represented a 99.6% fulfillment of the year's goal, even with the difficult market situation for 2020 due to the impact of the health emergency caused by COVID-19, a reduction in the demand and the crisis due to low prices.

Important achievements in facilities include the start-up of Castilla 3 Station, on the contractual front, the acquisition of Chevron's participation in the Guajira Association Contract by Hocol and the completion of the Piedemonte Association Contract.

Ecopetrol's relationship with its Associates or Partners, as a key element of the Corporate Strategy, is focused on maximizing the value and sustainability of assets, optimizing its operations and managing risks, promoting relationships of respect and collaboration, within the guidelines ethics and transparency of Ecopetrol.

Within the continuous improvement process, a specific relationship plan was drawn up for each Company and an annual measurement is carried out in order to identify the aspects that can be strengthened and those in which Ecopetrol is successful.

The Ecopetrol Group is committed to its operations in the Gulf of Mexico and the development of unconventional fields in the United States.

The Ecopetrol Group within its portfolio does not have exploration and extraction operations in the Arctic zone.

Well drilling

During 2020, 255 wells were drilled, 206 are part of the Ecopetrol’s operation and 49 correspond to the Subsidiaries, in addition, 281 Workover works were carried out.
