Ricardo Roa Barragan
Mr. Roa currently holds the position of President of Ecopetrol, Colombia's largest company and parent company of one of Latin America's leading integrated energy groups. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a specialization in Engineering Management Systems from Universidad Nacional. He has more than 30 years of professional experience and is a recognized expert in the energy industry. Over the past 15 years he has held senior positions in energy and gas companies in Colombia, Peru, Guatemala, and Honduras. Throughout his career, he has spearheaded studies and initiatives in energy generation, unveiled efficiency projects, and led strategic transformations in companies in the industry. He previously served as Manager of Grupo Energía de Bogotá (GEB), President of Transportadora de Gas Internacional (TGI), and Manager of Empresa Energía de Honduras (EEH). He was also President of Termoeléctrica La Luna and General Manager of Celco S.A.S. During his extensive career, he has also served as Sector Director of Energy and Gas at Andesco; Commercial Manager of the energy trading company Cencol; General Manager of Electrificadora de Santander, and Energy Business Manager of the Organización Ardila Lülle. As President of Ecopetrol, his priority will be to lead a fair and sustainable energy transition, focusing on the company's operational and financial soundness to benefit all its shareholders and all Colombians.
David Alfredo Riaño Alarcón
Has over 28 years of experience in the energy sector, having held leadership positions in companies and entities in the energy and gas sector. His knowledge of the energy market has been attained in renowned companies including Transportadora de Gas Internacional, Empresa de Energía de Cundinamarca, Gas Natural Fenosa, Red de Energía del Perú (ISA), in trade associations such as ACOLGEN and government entities such as the Superintendence of Public Services and the energy and gas regulatory entity CREG.
He is an electrical engineer with a degree from the University of La Salle and three master's degrees - in economics from the Javeriana University, in industrial engineering from the Universidad de los Andes, and in business administration from the University of Warwick.
He held the position of Executive Vice-President of Energy for the Transition at Ecopetrol S.A. until May 9, 2025.
Camilo Barco Muñoz
Is a Colombian Senior Executive with more than 30 years of successful experience in management positions, both in the public and private sectors.
Currently, certified ESG Member of several Boards of Directors in ColombiaJaramillo Mora Constructores JMC, Banco Agrario de Colombia BAC, FONDES, OZONO ESP and for mermember of other important Boards in large companies across Latin America, including among others: Ecopetrol, Bancoldex, Telefónica, ISA Capital do Brasil, CTEEP, Red Eléctrica del Perú, Intervial Chile, INFRAMCO and Metro de Bogotá.
He is a dynamic and encouraging leader with strong competencies in high performance team management, strategic planning, corporate governance, corporate finance and new business structuring and development.
As an Investment Banker, he participated in the structuring and execution of an extensive number of transactions, either in advisory (M&A), Structured finance and debt capital markets. Previously, as a Consultant, he accompanied the Colombian Government and a wide list of public and private companies in the execution of strategic projects aimed at sustainability and value generation.
In addition, Mr.Barco served as Country Head of Investment Banking with Banco Itaú in Colombia; General Director of State-Owned Enterprises in the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (holding entity of state companies); Managing DirectorHead of Investment Banking at BBVA Colombia; CFO of Grupo ISA; Manager of Financial Consulting at Deloitte; and Advisor to UNDP for the Privatization and Concessions Program in Colombia.
Lawyer from Universidad del Rosario, Specialist in financial law from Universidad de los Andes, has carried out various executive courses in Corporate Finance, Capital Markets and International Finance at Chicago Booth School of Business and at the London School of Economics-LSE.
María Cristina Toro Restrepo
She is a lawyer from Universidad de Caldas university and has completed specializations in Mining-Energy Law at Universidad Externado de Colombia, in addition to Commercial Law and Tax and Customs Legislation at Universidad de Caldas. Within her 26 years of professional experience, she served as General Secretary of Medellin’s public utilities company (EPM), headed the Legal Counsel Office of the metro of Bogotá, acted as General Secretary of the metro of Medellín, headed the Labor Relations Management area of EPM, served as General Secretary and Legal Vice President of Grupo Energía de Bogotá, General Secretary of CHEC and Legal Director of Aguas de Manizales. Ms. Toro is a member of Women in Connection and a member of the Women Corporate Directors’ Community and Leadership Advisory Board of the school for business administration, CESA.
Alejandra María Echeverri Orozco
Ms. Echeverri holds an undergraduate degree in Law with a specialization in Commercial Law from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. She has over twenty years of experience in legal advisory and litigation firms and in the public sector, including in the Oil & Gas industry. Over the past ten years, she has worked in the Oil & Gas sector at Ecopetrol. Since December 2021, she has served as Judicial and Extrajudicial Manager (currently Head of Judicial and Extrajudicial Affairs) of the Corporate Legal Vice Presidency and General Secretariat of Ecopetrol S.A.
Luis Carlos Plata Prince
Attorney with specialization in Administrative Law from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and Master´s degree in Law with an emphasis on Contractual and Extracontractual, Civil and State Liability from Universidad Externado de Colombia. Mr. Plata has over 13 years of professional experience in the legal field. He previously worked in the Judicial Branch of government, specifically in the Third Section of the Council of State, where he served as Assistant Magistrate, as well as in the information technology and communications area for the Directorate of Surveillance, Inspection, and Control of the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications. Since 2020, he has been working in the hydrocarbons sector, specifically the Judicial and Extrajudicial Office of the Corporate Legal Vice-Presidency and General Secretariat, from which he serves as the company´s legal representative in judicial matters.
Jaime Andrés García Cuello
Jaime Andrés García Cuello was appointed Vice-President of Administration and Services on September 2, 2024. He graduated as a Civil Engineer from Universidad de los Andes, with a specialization in Business Administration. He also has a Master’s in Business Administration from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain. Mr. Garcia has 24 years of professional experience, having served in strategic positions in both national and multinational companies. His expertise concentrates on supply chain, operations, purchasing, finance, and shared services management within Nestlé, Drummond, Banco Agrario, ETB among other companies. He has also been a professor at the Universidad del Norte.
Aldemar Alfonso Mejía Prado
He has served as Procurement Manager (currently Corporate Procurement Director) since October 2023. Previously, he held the position of Planning and Procurement Manager in the Vice Presidency of Development, Projects, and Drilling (EDP) of Ecopetrol S.A. He joined Ecopetrol in 2014 and has since held multiple positions, including Head of Pre-Contractual Planning, Procurement and Contracting Coordinator in charge of the Orinoquia Regional, Head of Contract Management for the Llanos HUB projects, Head of Contract Management at the national projects level. Mr. Mejia boasts over 17 years of professional expertise in the Oil & Gas industry. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineer from the Universidad Industrial de Santander, a specialization in Project Management and a Master's in Strategic Management from the Universidad de Los Andes. He is certified in agile methodologies and has been recognized within the organization for his leadership skills, team development, and achievements in recent years in planning and contract management.
