To fulfill the commitments made by the company in its Human Rights Guide, Ecopetrol has a Tactical Plan on Human Rights, which sets out two tactical objectives:
  1. Ensure the due diligence and traceability of Ecopetrol´s operation, which is respectful of Human Rights.
  2. Add value through the promotion of Human Rights in the company´s operational environments.

Each of these objectives has strategic areas that include activities to achieve the set objectives. 

First tactical objective: Ensure the due diligence and traceability of Ecopetrol´s operation, which is respectful of Human Rights:

  • Incorporation of the analysis of Human Rights risks within Ecopetrol´s risk management model.
Complaints, grievances and claims system for human rights
  • Configuration of the complaints, grievances and claims system platform.
  • Design and implementation of a complaints, grievances and claims system for Human Rights.
Assurance of behaviors in the value chain
  • Strengthening of the management model for contractors.
  • Strategic alignment with affiliates.
  • Strategic alignment with partners.
Security and Human Rights
  • Training and awareness raising in Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (Capacity Building).
  • Standardization of procedures with Human Rights perspective.
  • Dissemination and promotion of the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.
  • Tracking and Monitoring.

Dialogue on Human Rights with stakeholders
  • Definition and implementation of the dialogue strategy
Promotion of multiculturalism
  • Management of relations with ethnic groups
Disability and occupational inclusion
  • Definition of guidelines for the company on the issue
  • Implementation of the Disability Program
Promotion of the rights of children and adolescents
  • Prevention and elimination of child labor within contractors.
  • Program aimed at improving the quality of life of children and adolescents, children of Ecopetrol´s workers.
  • Promotion of the rights of children and adolescents in the communities operated in.
Freedom of association and collective bargaining
  • Constructive relationships with unions.
  • Collaboration (Ecopetrol-Union) on Human Rights issues
  • Compliance with collective agreement commitments on Human Rights.
