As a consequence of the above, not only is the reputation of the Company maintained, but also work is being done in line with the guidelines of the national government to fight corruption.
Our model is based on the development of the risk maps. With this information, the work plans are created and the actors (internal and external) are brought together through institutional partnerships. Our entire management model is based on the prevention of corruption, and the creation and consolidation of a culture of transparency based on the "person.?
The strategy to be developed includes, among others, strengthening the commitment of our stakeholders, bringing them onboard to combat this scourge.
The objectives of the strategy are to:
- Consolidate a culture based on ethical values.
- Ensure compliance with the Anti-Corruption Statute.
- Develop inter-agency synergies that make it possible to mitigate the risks of corruption and strengthen the visibility of consequences, thus decreasing the perception of impunity.
- Formulate, as a result of its development, a comprehensive long-term anti-corruption program in Ecopetrol.
It is clear that the tools given to us today by the Anti-Corruption Statute are vital, but these must be supplemented to achieve a shift in culture, through which the results are obtained. The above is achieved by being aware that transparency is a fundamental principle.
By having a risk map in Ecopetrol, we can focus our efforts on processes and on the critical areas (prioritization). Therein, prevention activities will be undertaken, which permeate into the culture of our staff members, colleagues and partners. Similarly, it is important that based on the risks identified, preventive actions are generated against future corruption events, whatever their type is. (the way they in which they occur).
The contribution of citizens that form part of Ecopetrol´s stakeholders is central to this strategy. They are called to strive towards processes being visible, public and transparent, informing Ecopetrol and the competent authorities of any act or suspicion of corruption (report here). Also, the company will include anti-corruption management within accountabilities and its management reports.
Finally, the participation of certain State entities is necessary, which enable us to consolidate synergies to train our staff in managing anti-corruption and ensuring the prosecution of offenses and the imposing of sanctions that reduce the perception of impunity for acts of corruption.
