In addition, it carries out exploration activities in 21 blocks on Colombian territory directly and shares risk with other companies in another 12.

It has a transportation network of approximately 8,500 kilometers of oil pipelines and multi-purpose pipelines throughout the country, which converge at the Coveñas and Santa Marta terminals on the Atlantic Coast, and Buenaventura and Tumaco, on the Pacific.

It has its own research and development center, the Colombian Petroleum Institute (Instituto Colombiano del Petróleo - ICP), which provides specialized technical services through its 24 laboratories and 29 pilot plants.

In refining, it has an installed capacity of over 330 barrels of crude load per day at the Barrancabermeja (250 kbpd) and Cartagena (80 kbpd), Refineries, the latter in a partnership with Glencore. These two refineries satisfy national fuel production, meeting the country’s demand and the output of export products. In Colombia, two additional refineries operate in Apiay and Orito, in the central and southern region of the country.
