Ecopetrol starts operations of a Modern Plant for Production of Clean Fuels
With an investment of US$1.023 billion, Ecopetrol has opened its hydro-treatment plant at the Barrancabermeja Refinery, allowing Colombia to enter the age of clean fuel production throughout the world.
Ecopetrol announces presence of gas in an exploratory well in N. Santander
Ecopetrol reports that it has proved the presence of natural gas at its Oripaya 1 exploratory well located in Northern Santander, Colombia, about 20 kilometers to the northeast of Cúcuta. The well produced 6.6 million cubic feet of gas per day in initial tests.

The Colombian National Agency of Hydrocarbons (ANH) has assigned another exploration block to Ecopetrol S.A. in the Open Round Colombia 2010 bidding process, following the Company´s winning bids for nine other blocks located in various provinces of the country.
